The Las Vegas City Council unanimously approved Chris Craig as the city's new director of Innovation and Technologies. Craig had been serving in the role on an interim basis since December, and his appointment was confirmed at the council's recent meeting, according to the City of Las Vegas.
Craig began his career with Las Vegas as an enterprise project manager in 2014. Over the years, he held roles including business partner, business relationship manager, and deputy director before being appointed as the head of the Innovation and Technologies Department. Craig also previously led the Information and Technology division at Porterville College in California, as reported by the City of Las Vegas.
Craig has been appointed to lead Las Vegas' Innovation and Technologies Department, stating, "I’m excited by the opportunity to lead the city’s Innovation and Technologies team in aligning strategies with business objectives, fostering collaboration and promoting a culture of continuous learning." He also teaches Strategic Management of Technology and Innovation at UNLV. The city’s Innovation and Technologies Department is focused on advancing initiatives through the International Innovation Centers @ Vegas, as mentioned by the City of Las Vegas.
