The Clark County Coroner/Medical Examiner’s Office is reaching out to the public for assistance in a case that's been unresolved for nearly two years. A deceased White male, approximately 55-80 years old and 6’3” in height, was found on July 23, 2023, in an area near 700 East Sahara Avenue and S. 6th Street, as first reported by the Clark County Government news release.
The man, whose identity remains unknown, had several distinctive features: a broken nose, a scar on his left knee, scoliosis, fractured teeth, and a healed fracture on his right clavicle. He was found wearing blue "Walter Hagen" pants, a brown belt, and grey "New Balance" sneakers. These details have not yet led to his identification.
According to the Clark County Government, the estimated time of death was within 0 to 3 days before the body was located by workers. This detail, along with a photo and description of the man, has been shared with the National Missing and Unidentified Persons (NamUs) System, which is a centralized repository for unsolved cases in the U.S. The NamUs Case Number is 117028.
Investigators have yet to determine the cause and manner of his death as their efforts to put a name to the face persist. Clark County Coroner Melanie Rouse emphasized the need for public aid in a call for collaboration: "We are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying this individual to allow for notification to next of kin," she said. "Any details, no matter how small, could be crucial in bringing closure to this case," as per the Clark County Government.
