The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) has unveiled several new developments and service updates in its latest monthly traffic release for February 2025. Among the highlights, Allegiant Air marked its return to COS with a gate event, reintroducing nonstop flights to Phoenix/Mesa (AZA), Santa Ana/Orange County (SNA), and St. Petersburg/Tampa (PIE) after an eight-year hiatus. These flights to the three destinations will operate twice weekly, although the Phoenix/Mesa route is seasonal, as detailed by the City of Colorado Springs.

Alongside Allegiant Air's announcement, the airport's concourse gates 9-12 are now operational with the completion of the first two phases of the ElevateCOS modernization project. A new player to enhance the traveler experience, The Lounge Colorado Springs, has opened its doors, welcoming both Priority Pass and Global Lounge Network cardholders. Adding to the ease of shopping, Hudson Nonstop has also opened, aiming to swiftly provide travelers with their essential items. The airport is preparing to further expand its horizons with the new Federal Inspection Station (FIS), set to open in June 2025, which coincides nicely with the initiation of new international flights.

One such international highlight is that Southwest Airlines is scheduled to begin seasonal flights to Cancun (CUN) starting June 7, which will last through August 2. Additionally, year-round service to San Diego (SAN) by Southwest Airlines is slated to commence on October 2, with tickets already available for purchase, as per the City of Colorado Springs.

Other airlines have also announced service expansions. American Airlines is adding six daily nonstop flights to Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) with seamless connecting services; service to Chicago O'Hare (ORD) will begin on June 5. Delta Air Lines will offer twice-daily nonstop flights to Atlanta (ATL), except Tuesdays and Wednesdays, while also introducing an additional flight to Salt Lake City (SLC) starting in July 2025. Seasonal service to Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP) is expected to resume in June 2025. Meanwhile, United Airlines continues to deliver with three daily nonstop destinations and an impressive 12 daily flights to Denver (DEN), enabling connectors to reach coast-to-coast and beyond.
