
The Columbus Police Department has reported an update on a homicide case from early 2023. Last Friday, the Columbus Police SWAT arrested 21-year-old Nehemiah Garnett on a murder warrant related to the incident without any disturbances, as per official documents released by the Columbus Division of Police.
Before Garnett's arrest, another suspect, Stephanie Moore, had surrendered herself on a similar warrant for Murder on July 10, 2024. This followed the June 27, 2024, arrest of Amira Reed in Lucas County, Ohio, by USMS personnel, also on a count of Murder regarding this homicide case. Investigations into the incident, which took place on the 500 block of Riverview Dr., began after police responded to a shooting on January 9, 2023, at 10:13 am.
On arrival at the scene, authorities found the victim, who was later pronounced dead by the Division of Fire Personnel at 10:23 am. At the time, there was no suspect information available, and the victim had yet to be identified. The Columbus Police Homicide Unit has been actively pursuing leads in the case ever since, encouraging anyone with information to come forward and contact them or the Central Ohio Crime Stoppers. Detective Dave Phillips has been identified as the primary investigator handling this investigation.
