The long-awaited completion of construction work on LA 28 at St. Clair Road in Rapides Parish has finally arrived. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has informed the public that all obstacles to travel have been lifted, with the roadway now fully accessible to vehicular traffic. According to DOTD's announcement, this marks the end of construction-related disruptions stemming from Project SPN: H.015266, Control Section 417-02.
Previously, on November 12, 2024, Phase 1 of the construction work was completed, introducing east and west bound turn lanes at St. Clair Road, along with an additional east bound turn lane situated 800 feet east of St. Clair. These improvements were designed to enhance traffic flow and safety in a region known for its bustling activity. Despite the initial completion, further work lingered on until today's update, which Dotd proclaims an end to the construction activity.
"No further impact to traffic is anticipated in association with this project," the DOTD's recent statement assures, providing relief to commuters who have been navigating through the aforementioned construction zones. The project's goal was to streamline traffic movement and promote safety, and with the construction now relegated to the past, these objectives seem to have been accomplished.
