High-speed pursuits through the city streets always manage to catch the eye of the public, often for the sheer spectacle and inherent danger they suggest. But one recent chase had a conclusion that kept safety in mind. On March 21, 2025, what started with an attempt to pull over a motorcyclist for reckless speeding, ended with the arrest of a convicted felon, Xavier Johnson. According to the Constable's Office's Facebook page, deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office pursued Johnson after he was clocked at over 100-mph in the 18500 block of the Tomball Parkway and then refused to stop.
In the subsequent chase, law enforcement was able to bring the motorcycle to a halt. Despite the vehicle stop, Johnson attempted to avoid capture by fleeing on foot. Chasing the suspect with determined speed, Constable Deputies soon caught up to him. "Xavier Johnson was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle," Constable Mark Herman stated in the Facebook post. The authorities have yet to set a bond for Johnson out of the 208th District Court.
