"I only studied for the SAT and the material went over what the ACT covered, too," Ray told My Neighborhood News. Despite prioritizing the SAT in his studies, the overlap in content was evidently sufficient for him to excel on the ACT as well.
Ray's academic rigor extended beyond standardized testing; his high school course load featured numerous advanced placement classes, ensuring his preparedness for future academic endeavors. "College was a big motivator to do well because the University of Texas at Austin is getting competitive for computer science, so I wanted to make sure I had the best possible application," Ray explained to KHOU. According to ACT CEO Janet Godwin, perfect scores like Ray's are exceedingly rare. Given the statistically significant pool of candidates, only approximately 3,041 students nailed the highest possible score.
