
David Metcalf has been appointed as the Interim United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. His appointment, supported by the White House, includes a nomination for a four-year term, solidifying his role in the federal legal system, as per the U.S. Attorney's Office release.
Metcalf brings extensive experience to the role, having previously worked as a federal prosecutor with the Department of Justice, where he handled organized crime cases and served as Deputy Chief of Appeals. Before that, he was corporate counsel at Amazon, dealing with government and regulatory litigation, and worked at Covington & Burling LLP. He also clerked for Judge Albert Diaz.
Metcalf holds a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and an undergraduate degree from Princeton University, providing a strong educational foundation for his new role. He expressed his commitment to serving the community, stating, "I’m pleased to once again serve the people of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. I look forward to working with my colleagues here to uphold the rule of law and prosecute criminals who threaten our communities," in the same release.
