Early Monday's severe thunderstorm created more than thunder and lightning in Denton County, leading to an emergency rescue operation. According to a social media post from the emergency services district, Denton County Emergency Services District #1 and Northlake police officers responded to reports of an overturned semi on I-35W.
The incident happened as high winds from the storm caused the vehicle to tip, trapping an individual inside the cab of the tractor trailer. Despite facing challenging conditions, including rain and the threat of lightning, first responders worked hastily yet meticulously to extricate the person, who fortunately sustained only minor injuries. They were subsequently taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Brian Montini, mayor of Northlake, Texas, commended the rescue team's efforts.
