Denver is gearing up to celebrate its young innovators and community spirit at the upcoming Future Fest 2025. This free event, scheduled for April 26 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Civic Center Park, aims to inspire the city's youth and their families by showcasing a range of activities, contests, and live performances. According to the City and County of Denver Office of Human Resources, the event stands as a testament to the potential and creativity of Denver's future leaders.
Denver Mayor Mike Johnston is an advocate for the festival, seeing it as an opportunity for local youth to connect their passions with potential careers. "Future Fest offers a unique opportunity for Denver's youth and their families, to discover new possibilities, engage with their community, and explore exciting career pathways," Johnston said, as per City and County of Denver Office of Human Resources, envisioning a spark of passion for public service among attendees. The event will also include youth competitions in areas such as business pitching, T-shirt design, and stepping, providing a platform for young talent to shine.
For those interested in the performing arts, the festival's live performances are expected to be a highlight, reflecting Denver's rich cultural scene. Moreover, in partnership with Denver Parks and Recreation, sports clinics will be on offer for attendees of all ages. These activities are not just about fun, but also about fostering teamwork and promoting physical activity.
Competitions are a core aspect of Future Fest 2025, with the city looking to engage young entrepreneurs, artists and performers through various contests. For instance, the T-shirt Design Contest invites artists aged 14 and under, to submit designs that incorporate the festival's theme, with a deadline set for March 28. The Pitch Competition, in partnership with Denver Economic Development & Opportunity, will challenge young business minds in a two-round event concluding with a live pitch-off, as outlined by the Office of Human Resources.
Registration for the competitions is currently open, with deadlines approaching for participants to secure their spots. The Step Competition requires applications and a video submission by March 28, with announcements for selections following on March 31. Details for signing up can be accessed from the festival's official website, where attendees can also find more information on the variety of events and activities planned for the day.
