Residents of Arlington, get ready to add a new activity to your weekend routine. The Downtown Arlington Farmers Market is set to open this Saturday, March 29, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Downtown Arlington Management Corporation, the City of Arlington, and Four Seasons Markets. Announced recently, the market will run every Saturday through November, promising a spread of fresh local produce and artisanal goods. Just on Center and Front Streets, the market opens its stalls from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., adjacent to the Rotary Dream Park.
As revealed in an announcement by the City of Arlington, Maggie Campbell, President and CEO for Downtown Arlington, described the market as a long-awaited project. "For years, our community has expressed a strong desire for a farmers market in Downtown Arlington," she said, confirming the market's role in fortifying community ties and providing access to local products.
Locating the market is effortless with the abundance of free parking options available. Find spaces along Front Street, the 101 Center parking garage, city hall, and additional streets south of the train tracks. Center Street, east of the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, also includes handicapped parking spaces, ensuring inclusivity and ease for all market-goers.
Between 25 and 30 vendors are anticipated to participate in the Downtown Arlington Farmers Market each Saturday. According to sources in Downtown Arlington, the wares presented will include fresh fruits, vegetables, baked items, and handmade crafts.
