An SUV overturned in a crash with a sedan near Grant Park in Chicago on Sunday evening, with authorities stating that both drivers managed to avoid serious injuries. The collision took place around 6:58 p.m. on the 300 block of East Balbo Drive when the SUV, attempting a westward turn, collided with the sedan heading south on Lake Shore Drive, causing the SUV to flip, as reported by FOX 32 Chicago.
The sedan's driver, who was reported uninjured, was also taken to the hospital for checks, according to ABC 7 Chicago, the drivers escaped serious injury but the SUV one had to be hospitalized as a precaution, the other, though without a scratch, still felt the hospital's white walls press upon him as a testament to the precariousness of health.
Area Three detectives have taken up the investigation to unpack the details of the crash. "No other injuries were reported," as stated by FOX 32 Chicago.
