The Solarize Eastside program, led by the Eastside Climate Partnership, offers residents and businesses in Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Redmond, and Sammamish a simplified process for installing solar panels. Interested participants can sign up for a free solar assessment at SolarizeEastside.org by July 4, according to the City of Bellevue.
The Solarize Eastside program offers financial support to participants through a partnership with Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union, providing special financing to reduce solar panel costs. Participants can also benefit from net metering, which allows them to earn utility bill credits for excess energy returned to the grid, potentially lowering monthly expenses, as reported by the City of Bellevue.
Solarize Eastside is working with local installers including Artisan Electric, Sunergy Systems, Puget Sound Solar, Sun Path Electric, and Solterra Solar to offer discounted solar panel installations. The program provides guidance throughout the process and will hold free public workshops over four months to explain solar energy, available incentives, and program details. More information is available on the program's website, as stated by the City of Bellevue.
