Having served the community since 2006, Shepard's career path was deeply rooted in El Dorado County. A graduate of the Sacramento Regional Fire Academy, Class 07-1, in May 2007, he became a Firefighter Paramedic. It was in this role that Shepard, who demonstrated his dedication, became a beloved member of the fire protection team. In a statement by the El Dorado County Fire Protection District, his professional milestones were honored, commending the passion he poured into every level of his ascending career.
Shepard's rise through the ranks culminated with his promotion to Fire Marshal in December 2024, only months before his untimely passing. Taking on the role of a Prevention Specialist in April 2021 prior to this, he made significant contributions in the realm of fire prevention and safety education, as reported by the El Dorado County Fire Protection District.
