
Five teenagers were apprehended by El Paso Police after orchestrating a "crash-and-grab" theft at an East El Paso vape shop. The incident occurred early Thursday morning when the teens, aged between 15 and 16, reportedly drove a stolen Hyundai into Loudmouth Vapor on Montana Avenue, before fleeing in a second stolen vehicle, a Kia. Both vehicles were already noted for their susceptibility to break-ins, police said.
The robbery took place after the shop had closed, around 1:50 a.m. The suspects managed to break open displays and make off with merchandise before abandoning the damaged Hyundai and switching to another vehicle for their escape. According to reports from KFOX-TV, police officers quickly apprehended the group following the theft.
Upon their arrest, two of the teenagers were found to be in possession of drugs. The charges levied against the individuals included burglary of a building, unauthorized use of motor vehicles, and evading arrest, among others. After the capture, the El Paso Police Department revealed that two of the 15-year-olds were released to their parents, while the remaining three suspects were referred to the juvenile department.
