Residents and travelers in 'Ele'ele should prepare for disruptions from Monday through Friday, as announced by the Department of Public Works Wastewater Management Division. According to a recent press release, lane closures will be in effect for necessary sewer maintenance and pavement striping work. Motorists are advised to drive cautiously and expect delays in the affected areas.
Daytime sewer work will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at various locations throughout 'Ele'ele for the duration of the maintenance period. Details on the affected areas can be found on the map provided in the announcement. In the evenings, from Monday through Thursday, pavement striping will begin at 8 p.m. and continue until 4:30 a.m. at the intersections of Halewili Road and Huehu Road, as well as Waialo Road and Kaumuali'i Highway.
Traffic control measures will be in place, including the use of flaggers to manage the flow of vehicles through the work zones. The department urges the public to adjust their travel schedules as needed to circumvent any potential inconveniences arising from the ongoing work.
