Details came to light after the Tarpon Springs Little League's board members grew wary, following reports from league vendors about bounced payments due to "insufficient funds." As vendors voiced their concerns, an investigatory undertow began to surface. WFLA highlighted that funds were allegedly used for the former president's personal expenditures, painting a stark picture of betrayal.
In response to the discovery of financial irregularities, the Tarpon Springs Police Department initiated a probe into the organization's financial activities. As the depth of the misconduct became apparent, charges were brought forth. "Investigators said that between June 2023 and March 2024, Free withdrew more than $23,000 from Tarpon Springs Little League's accounts for her own personal use," as recounted by FOX 13 News.
