Residents and travelers in the Hopkinton Avenue area should be prepared for some delays and detours this week. According to a traffic advisory from Charlotte County, there will be daily road closures on Hopkinton Avenue, east of Pinedale Drive from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., starting today through March 29. The closures are necessary to complete repairs for stormwater infrastructure.
The county has set up detour routes with ample signage to guide motorists around the construction area. Those planning to travel through should allow for some extra time on top of their usual commute.
"Travelers are directed to a detour with signage and should allow extra time when planning to travel through this area," the advisory from Charlotte County stated. The message from the Public Works Department also reminds motorists to "remain alert at all times and to exercise caution when traveling in the vicinity of construction zones."
