"There is so much to explore in Ohio, from our bustling big cities and unique small towns to our beautiful natural escapes," Governor DeWine said in his announcement of the guide through the Ohio Department of Development website. With an emphasis on local insights and interviews with influential Ohioans, the travel guide promises a deep dive into the state's cultural and natural offerings—split into five regional sections for easy navigation. Looking to inspire adventurers and foodies alike, the guide features the World Heritage Trail, Ohio's thriving culinary scene, and year-round outdoor activities curated for all kinds of travelers, including a feature on Nelson-Kennedy Ledges State Park's rugged beauty.
Putting a spotlight on Ohio's thriving tourism sector, the guide highlights the economic milestone hit in 2023, boasting a $56 billion impact and 238 million visits—a testament to the state's growing popularity as a travel destination. According to statistics, an overwhelming 84% of visitors express a desire to return, as confirmed by State Tourism Director Sarah Wickham, who told TourismOhio via the Ohio Department of Development: "These aren't just trips; they're moments that turn into traditions. That's why people keep coming back—again and again—and why some never want to leave."
