
Last night, a fire broke out in a residential area of Southeast DC, engulfing a single-story wood frame house. The DC Fire and EMS Department updated the community through an X post that the fire, which occurred in the 5000 block of A St SE, has been brought under control.

One adult and four children were assessed by emergency medical services at the scene and did not require further medical attention.
The police update mentioned that displacements are expected. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage have not yet been released, with fire investigators already on the scene.
