The fatal collision occurred on Route 38 in Concord Township just before the 4 p.m. threshold, as reported by WPXI. Pennsylvania State Police detailed that a southbound Cadillac drifted across the median, entered the northbound lane, and collided with a Honda CRV.
To evade the impending disaster, the Honda swerved into the southbound lanes. However, the Cadillac mirrored this maneuver—returning to its original path, resulting in a catastrophic head-on collision. The impact claimed the life of Dora Horvis, 48, a passenger in the Honda, at the scene. WTAE confirmed Horvis's passing, following a statement from the county coroner. Both vehicle operators sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to area hospitals for treatment.
As news of the crash spread, Sky 4, Pittsburgh's only news helicopter, showed the severe damage along Oneida Valley Road and Rider Road.
