A fatal accident occurred on Boulder Highway this last Saturday. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, as reported by FOX5 Vegas, stated that the crash took place around 1:10 p.m. near the intersection of Boulder Highway and Dalhart Avenue. A Hyundai Sonata, which had stopped at a stop sign on Dalhart Avenue, proceeded through the intersection and entered the path of a Chrysler 300, resulting in a driver's side impact.
A 50-year-old woman driving a Hyundai was transported to Sunrise Trauma following a crash on Boulder Highway, where she later died from her injuries despite medical efforts. The crash, which involved a Chrysler striking a Sonata, occurred between Sahara Avenue and Sandhill Road, an area that remains closed. The second driver, in the Chrysler, sustained minor injuries and showed no signs of impairment, according to police. This fatal crash marks the 32nd traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for the year, as stated by FOX5 Vegas.
Authorities have not yet determined if impairment was a factor in the collision. According to 8 News Now, both drivers were taken to a nearby hospital following the crash. The investigation is ongoing, and Boulder Highway will remain closed between Sahara Avenue and Sandhill Road.
