
Early this morning, firefighters responded to a blaze at a three-story apartment building in Panorama City. The incident, documented in an LAFD alert, reported a fire in one unit on the first floor at 7970 N Woodman Ave. The alert indicated that firefighters were "in the offensive mode" as they tackled the flames.
The fire sparked at around 9:16 AM and by 9:33 AM, it had been successfully extinguished by a team of 40 firefighters. According to a follow-up LAFD alert, "the fire was contained to one unit on the first floor." Residents of the first floor had already been evacuated, the rest were advised to shelter in place during the incident.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The swift response by the fire department ensured that the situation was under control within 17 minutes. Firefighters then proceeded with a smoke removal operation, ensuring the safety and habitability of the building for its residents to return to their homes.
While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, the knockdown operation signaled a prompt resolution to a potentially dangerous situation.
