The Folsom Police Department reported that an illegal encampment at 370 Plaza Drive, present since July 2024, has been cleared. The department's Homeless Outreach Team led the effort, and before-and-after photos were shared to document the change, as reported by the Folsom Police Department.

Over several months, Homeless Outreach Team worked with individuals at the encampment alongside Jake’s Journey Home, a local nonprofit, to provide support and resources. The Department of Fish and Wildlife granted Folsom Police enforcement authority over its lands within city limits. After posting notices for abatement, a coordinated cleanup took place, with Department of Fish and Wildlife assisting in habitat restoration, as stated by the Folsom Police Department.

According to the Folsom Police Department on their Facebook page, "The Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) achieved a significant milestone in improving community safety and the environment, successfully addressing an illegal encampment at 370 Plaza Drive." The operation was prompted by community complaints and fire risks. The department worked with Department of Fish and Wildlife and other partners to clear the area and assist those affected. Homeless Outreach Team will continue working with local authorities and community groups to address illegal encampments and maintain public safety.
