
Maria Del Carmen Jaimes, a former employee of the Human Services Agency (HSA), entered a no-contest plea to the felony charge of siphoning government funds.
According to a social media announcement by the San Mateo County District Attorney, Jaimes, 49, committed the theft by methodically extracting $28,000 from 22 inactive welfare accounts over a period of nine months.
