Fort Worth seniors have just gained access to a new support system that helps them save on water and money. The city's water department is rolling out the SmartFlush CARE Program, which promises up to two free toilets, including delivery and installation, for eligible customers. The City of Fort Worth announced the initiative to alleviate some of the burdens faced by the city's elderly population.
Eligibility requirements for the program are clear: residents must be at least 70 years old, own a home built before 1994, have an active water account at the requested address, and cannot have previously participated in the program at that address. Those not meeting the age requirement can still qualify by fitting into the federal household income guidelines. As per the information provided by Fort Worth Water, applying for the program includes simply applying for review. However, they warn customers to be ready to wait six to eight weeks for processing.
For interested individuals looking to take advantage of this offer, there are a few ways to apply: online, by downloading and emailing a completed application, or by requesting a paper application through mail.
