The incident unfolded just after 9:30 a.m., when witnesses at the car wash, located near Bellam Boulevard and Francisco Boulevard East, called 9-1-1 to report a physical fight, which involved a victim being pinned to the ground. Ebert had allegedly fled when officers arrived within two minutes of the call. According to the police, an argument between Ebert and another customer escalated as a car wash employee tried to intervene, leading to Ebert threatening the employee with a knife, punching her, and pinning her to the ground. The victim suffered injuries and was treated at the scene, as per the San Rafael Police Department.
Investigators received multiple witness descriptions, which enabled the San Rafael Police to launch a search for Ebert and her vehicle. When the vehicle was detected entering San Pablo later that evening by their Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system, San Pablo Police detained Ebert until San Rafael Police took her into custody.
Following her arrest, Ebert confessed to her involvement in the car wash incident. She was then booked on charges of felony assault with a deadly weapon and felony battery causing great bodily injury, with her bail set at $50,000.
