Springer, a native of Kaʻūpūlehu, North Kona, isn't new to environmental advocacy and cultural preservation, having lent her voice and leadership to a variety of councils and boards over the years, among these engagements, her roles on the Hawaiʻi County Planning Commission stand out and the Public Access, Open Space and Natural Resources Preservation Commission, also her tenure as a trustee for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs highlights a storied career dedicated to land and water protection in Hawai'i.

On the judicial side of government appointments, Governor Green has nominated Kauanoe A. D. Jackson to the Circuit Court of the Third Circuit on the island of Hawai‘i according to her extensive legal pedigree; since 2007, Jackson has risen through the ranks of the Hawaiʻi County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to supervise felony prosecutions, a trajectory that has seen her involved in significant cases and administrative leadership in West Hawaiʻi.
