
Last Saturday, tragedy struck on I-96 in Polkton Township as a man perished in a severe vehicle accident. The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) responded to the scene around 1 a.m., where they discovered a devastating scenario involving a single vehicle, as FOX 17 reported.
An investigation conducted at the location revealed that a black Cadillac Escalade had veered off the road and was suspected to have rolled multiple times. Tragically, the driver, a 43-year-old man from Grand Rapids, was ejected from the vehicle. Despite efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to details shared by WZZM 13.
Deputies discovered the car in the median near the 15-mile marker on I-96 west of Coopersville. While the precise cause of the accident is still under thorough investigation, the details currently available indicate a rapid and violent sequence of events leading up to the driver's ejection from his vehicle.
