Grand Rapids Nonprofit MomsBloom Hosts 'Rest & Refresh' Event for Mothers at Mind Body Baby CollectiveSource: Google Street View

Grand Rapids mothers in need of a respite from the rigors of parenthood were treated to a special occasion this past weekend, courtesy of a local nonprofit organization. MomsBloom Inc. hosted a "Rest & Refresh" event, offering a range of wellness activities specifically designed for mothers and caregivers, as reported by woodtv.com. The gathering took place at the Mind Body Baby Collective, providing free services including massages, acupuncture, and yoga.

With childcare responsibilities often leaving little time for self-care, MomsBloom's event aimed to give attendees a well-deserved break. Massage therapists, acupuncturists, and other wellness practitioners were on site, and local women-owned businesses showcased their self-care products and services. The event not only provided relaxation but also a chance to support the community, as proceeds from raffles and donations went directly to aiding MomsBloom's postpartum support efforts, as WZZM13 noted.

Kimber Wager, Executive Director of MomsBloom, underscored the importance of the event, telling FOX17, "Mothers and caregivers give so much of themselves every day, This event is a chance for them to recharge and connect with resources for ongoing wellness." Alongside the physical wellness activities, the Rest & Refresh event offered a chance to socialize and, establish connections with others facing the same day-to-day challenges of parenthood.

Free childcare was a significant attraction for many participants, making it easier for mothers to step away and enjoy the afternoon without worry, as the available yoga classes proved particularly popular, hosted every 30 minutes from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Those interested in future events or looking to contribute to MomsBloom's mission can find more information on their website or by visiting the Mind Body Baby Collective during community events.
