Armed with tips from its social media-savvy citizens, authorities have been arrested in connection with a series of mailroom thefts. It's a relief for the community of 4200 Northern Cross, which saw their packages vanish on Valentine's Day — and then again eight days later. The Haltom City Police Department thanked the public in their latest Facebook update for the swift response that led to the apprehension of one suspect. However, the other half of the thieving duo remains at large, deftly sidestepping the long arm of the law, for now.
The suspect, who has yet to be corralled, is distinguished by a purple hat. This unknown individual has successfully dodged detection, and his image was plastered across social media in hopes of a lead. The previously shared Facebook post clued the community into what to watch for: a white Mercedes GLA 250 with a temporary tag and, later, a Toyota SUV. But, as the case drags on, law enforcement is doubling down on their call for any tidbits about the man in the purple hat.
