In a routine traffic stop turned arrest, deputies under Constable Mark Herman's command apprehended an individual suspected of driving while intoxicated in Harris County. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, involved the driver Steffany Alvarez, who was stopped in the 8000 block of N Sam Houston Parkway W and displayed signs suggesting alcohol impairment.
According to a Facebook post by Precinct 4, Alvarez underwent the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests where, officials determined she was unfit to operate her vehicle safely. An ensuing investigation confirmed her blood alcohol content as 0.159, almost twice above the legal driving limit.
“Steffany Alvarez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated," Constable Mark Herman's office stated in the social media announcement. In detailing the aftermath, the office shared that Alvarez's bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 1.
