The Harris County Sheriff's Office is intensifying its efforts to locate a suspect accused of a crime—the kidnapping and sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl. According to CW39, the incident occurred on February 3 when the young teen was making her way to school near the 6300 block of Greenhouse Road and West Little York. It is alleged that the male suspect, described as being between 40 and 50 years old, forced the girl into his older model dark grey sedan.

Determined to swiftly apprehend the suspect, the sheriff's office released a sketch of the man they believe to have committed the crime. The victim described the suspect as an older Black male with dreadlocks, as stated in a report by FOX26 Houston. It is reported that he then transported her to a nearby park where the assault transpired. Following the incident, the young girl was admitted to a hospital for treatment.

A local resident stated in an interview with FOX26 Houston, "At the end of the day, it’s a child. It’s somebody’s child. I can only imagine the pain that the parents are feeling. Or siblings. I hope that family is okay." Another community member stated that the area is generally considered safe and is often populated with children playing. They found it particularly distressing that "this individual found someone walking alone."

Authorities are requesting information regarding the suspect’s identity or location. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office can be contacted at 713-830-3250. Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the suspect's arrest.
