Officers managed to quickly apprehend Guerra and upon investigation, identified him as a convicted felon; meanwhile, the passenger, Jose Mercado, was linked to an outstanding warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance, during the incident a vehicle search by the deputies unearthed multiple illicit substances including 5.5 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, .86 grams of Xanax and an unspecified quantity of Marijuana.
