Harry Reid International Airport, the buzzing hub that channels the vibrant pulse of Southern Nevada, is now being celebrated with its new "Gateway to Everything" campaign. Monika Bertaki, the Chief Marketing Officer for the Clark County Department of Aviation, introduced the initiative with a promising perspective. "Whatever brings you here, our airport is the gateway to it all," Bertaki stated to News 3 LV. With a digital overhaul in the baggage claim area, the campaign thrives on dynamic visuals capturing the essence of Las Vegas's role as a center for entertainment, gaming, and sports.
Reflecting on the airport's evolution over the years, Bertaki recalled to 8 News Now, "62 years ago, we had six airlines, about 128 daily flights." Found welcoming more than half of its visitors from the skies than by roadways in recent years, the Las Vegas airport operates as the lifeblood of Southern Nevada's tourism and event success. "That year, we finished with 1.5 million passengers," she mistakenly added, baring the heart of the campaign rooted in the airport's continued growth and record-breaking passenger influx for a third consecutive year.
The "Gateway to Everything" strategy not only underscores the airport's critical role in the region's economy but also ignites a new manifestation of its essence—as an inception and culmination point for those drawn to the sports and entertainment capital of the world. "This airport system is the gateway to everything we cherish about this region, this community, and this destination," Bertaki told News 3 LV in a moment resonating with pride and certainty for the future of air travel in Las Vegas.
Notably, the campaign arrives at a time when air travel to Las Vegas is being chosen over driving by visitors, marking a shift in travel preferences. Bertaki cited, revealing to 8 News Now, "More than half our visitors in the last few years we’ve discovered are actually coming by air. They’re not travelling by car as much as they used to before." Indeed, in the orchestration of Southern Nevada's grand symphony of events, Harry Reid International Airport strikes a chord as a steadfast yet unsung hero. "This airport system is the gateway to everything we all love about this region, about this community, and this destination," Bertaki described, echoing the sentiments of many who see the airport as more than a point of departure but as a herald to potential and endless opportunity.
