A helicopter incident caused some disturbance in Chuluota, Seminole County, after a small helicopter owned by a resident unexpectedly landed in a home's backyard. ClickOrlando reported that the event occurred shortly before 6 p.m. yesterday at 1236 Galant Fox Way. The Seminole County Fire Department confirmed, "It is confirmed that this was a small helicopter that crashed on its side in an unplanned landing."
Remarkably, the occurrence didn't end in a catastrophe. No structures were involved in the accident, and the pilot, recently licensed and newly in possession of the helicopter, escaped the ordeal without injuries. "When it tips over, there's a lot of things that happen, so to walk away with no injuries even on a tip-over crash like this is very lucky," paramedic Lt. Dave Williams elucidated in a statement detailed by WESH.
The pilot's spouse informed News 6 that a gust of wind thwarted an attempt to rotate the helicopter, leading to the crash while the aircraft remained on the ground. The Federal Aviation Administration has been alerted to further examine what exactly occurred during this incident.
