Starting Thursday, March 6, the Henderson Police Department will launch its sixth Joining Forces initiative, focusing on speeding drivers. The campaign, running through March 23, aims to reduce speeding with increased traffic enforcement.
Police will increase patrols in neighborhoods known for speed violations, responding to citizen complaints. Officers will actively enforce the law in these areas to curb reckless driving and reduce speeding dangers.
For over two decades, speeding has been a leading cause in about one-third of all motor vehicle deaths, a sobering reminder from the Nevada Highway Traffic Safety Administration. These statistics reflect lives lost and families impacted. This reality drives the Joining Forces initiative, a multi-jurisdictional effort aimed at reducing injuries and fatalities through the strict enforcement of traffic laws.
Education plays a key role in this initiative alongside enforcement.
