Houston authorities are currently probing the circumstances surrounding a lethal car mishap that transpired early yesterday morning at 500 East Crosstimbers Street. At approximately 1:15 a.m., an ill-fated crash claimed the life of a 33-year-old man, whose name has yet to be released, pending formal identification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, as first reported by the City of Houston press releases.
A black Chevrolet Silverado, driven by the decedent, was detected weaving out of its designated lane according to the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division's Sergeant Y. Ramirez and Officer N. Solomon. The truck careened off the asphalt, mounted the curb, and with unrestrained force, met a tree on the driver's side. The City of Houston official report states, "The impact caused the vehicle to rebound off the tree, crash through a metal fence and then continue southward until it came to a stop in an empty field."
Despite the quick response from Houston Fire Department paramedics, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Thankfully, no one else was involved in the crash, as per the City of Houston.
