An apartment fire last Saturday in Spring Branch North was controlled without any reported injuries, according to a news release from the Houston Fire Department. Firefighters were called to 3125 Crestdale Dr. at 9:08 a.m., swiftly addressing smoke emanating from the attic and roofline of the building. Despite the early morning chaos, crews were able to tap out the fire by approximately 9:30 a.m. The fire was found in the attic, prompting firefighters to pull the ceiling to extinguish it.
The efforts of the 38 responding personnel, including units from Stations 2, 15, 4, 5, 49, 77, 66, 50, 57 and Heavy Rescue 11, led to the preservation of property worth an estimated $920,000, as reported by the City of Houston. Meanwhile, damages from the blaze have been tallied at approximately $230,000. As of now, the cause of the fire is under investigation but appears to be accidental, potentially stemming from an electrical issue.
The American Red Cross has been notified to provide aid to the residents affected by the fire. Furthermore, HFD Arson investigators are working to conclusively determine both the cause and origin of the fire.
