A fire broke out in an apartment building on Tuesday at 8513 Westheimer Rd. in the Mid West area of Houston. Houston Fire Department reported that the incident occurred at approximately 4:05 p.m. with no injuries cited at the scene.
Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from the two-story building. A strategic offensive was implemented to fight the fire, including roof ventilation and a primary search to ensure no one was trapped inside. The fire was brought under control within 25 minutes, with estimated property damage at $150,000. Utilities were secured, and the Houston Police Department assisted with traffic control for public safety.
Investigators from the HFD's Arson unit have been tasked with unraveling the cause of the fire, which initial assessments suggest was accidental.
