Houston police are in the process of investigating a fatal shooting incident which was reported yesterday morning, according to details from the Houston Police Department. The incident left one man dead in a parking area that once served patrons of a now-abandoned business along the 12300 North Freeway service road. As of now, authorities have neither identified a suspect nor ascertained a clear motive tied to this act of violence.
Responding to an alert, Houston police patrol officers discovered the deceased male at approximately 10:40 a.m. Despite the Houston Fire Department paramedics arriving promptly at the scene, their efforts were in vain, the gunshot wounds the victim had sustained proved fatal. As per a statement from the Houston Police Department, HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Duncan and Detective W. Elliot reported: "HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a deceased male in the parking lot of an abandoned business at the above address."
Currently, the responsibility of identifying the victim rests with the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, though his name has not yet been disclosed to the public.
