Houston police are currently investigating a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 21-year-old man at 6502 Dixie Drive, yesterday morning. The Houston Fire Department paramedics who arrived at the scene declared the man deceased after he was found unresponsive due to gunshot wounds, as shared in information obtained by the City of Houston.
Detectives G. Zavala and E. Camacho from the HPD Homicide Division were dispatched to the parking lot of a bar on Dixie Drive around 12:05 a.m., following a call about the shooting. A witness at the scene informed the officers that prior to the shooting, the victim was involved in a verbal dispute with three individuals in a silver, four-door sedan. Not long after their confrontation, the victim was shot from within the vehicle while standing outside the bar, meanwhile, the sedan fled eastbound on Dixie Drive.
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is in the process of verifying the victim's identity, as the inquiry into the shooting continues. The Houston Police Department is actively seeking help from the public for any information related to the incident.
