Houston police are currently on the hunt for a man suspected of shooting his family member during an argument last Saturday night. The incident, which sent a 67-year-old man to the hospital in stable condition, occurred at approximately 7:55 p.m. at 10910 Cullen Boulevard, as confirmed by an official release from the Houston Police Department.
Charged with aggravated assault of a family member-serious bodily injury, Denzel Jamell Nixson, 36, remains at large despite the efforts of authorities to locate him. His photo accompanies the charge, just released in an effort to seek help from the public. Following their response to a shooting call, HPD patrol officers determined a male relative was the shooter, who had then fled the scene before police could apprehend him.
HPD Family Violence Division Detective J. Hasley reported the sequence of events, noting that it was after the suspect had fled the scene, the Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim, who is Nixson's father-in-law, to an area hospital. The Harris County District Attorney's Office was then notified, leading to Nixson's charges for his involvement in the shooting.
