Houston Police are on the hunt for a suspect after a man was shot and killed late Sunday night at an apartment complex in west Houston, as reported by the City of Houston news website. The incident occurred at approximately 11 p.m. at 10950 Tanner Park Court, with the victim identified as 27-year-old Joseph Thompson.
Upon arrival at the scene, HPD officers found Thompson unresponsive with a gunshot wound in the parking lot. He was later pronounced dead at the scene by the Houston Fire Department paramedics, and what first appeared as a night's grim final chapter has since spiraled into a quest for justice for a life cut tragically short. HPD Homicide Division's Sergeant K. Meek and Detective E. Camacho are leading the investigation, which has revealed that Thompson was involved in a verbal altercation with the shooter before the fatal shots were fired, as reported by the City of Houston.
Witnesses last saw the suspect fleeing the scene running northbound across the apartment complex, and with no immediate suspects, law enforcement is urgently requesting any information from the public.
