Last Thursday, a shooting at a Houston restaurant drive-thru left 17-year-old Irwan Paez dead. Houston police stated the case will be presented to a Harris County grand jury. Officers responded at 3:10 p.m. to 185 West Road, where they found Paez unresponsive with a gunshot wound, according to the City of Houston.
Houston police investigated a fatal shooting after paramedics pronounced Paez deceased. A red Dodge Ram pickup truck was seen leaving the scene after an altercation with several juveniles. The truck was later found on Laura Koppe Road, and multiple individuals were detained. However, no arrests or charges were made at the time, as reported by the City of Houston.
A 19-year-old has been charged with tampering with evidence in connection to the case. His identity has not been released, as he may serve as a witness during the grand jury process. The case has been referred to a grand jury for prosecutorial review. Authorities have asked anyone with additional information to come forward.
