
Houston authorities are investigating a tragic incident on the Eastex Freeway service road, where a 21-year-old woman died last Saturday morning. According to City of Houston News, the unidentified female pedestrian was lying on the roadway when she was struck by a northbound tractor-trailer truck around 6:40 a.m. The driver, who initially drove away, later returned in his personal vehicle.
The victim, whose identity remains unreleased pending notification from the Montgomery County Medical Examiner’s Office, was rushed by paramedics to HCA Kingwood Hospital. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the hospital. The Houston Police Department's Vehicular Crimes Division, under Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer M. Keita, is spearheading the ongoing investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
As the community awaits answers, the incident has raised concerns about pedestrian safety and the obligations of drivers in such scenarios. No charges have been filed as of now, and the details leading up to the woman’s presence on the road have yet to be disclosed.
