Jacksonville residents have one more opportunity to engage in the city's financial future at the upcoming Budget Town Hall. The City of Jacksonville, Florida announced on social media that Mayor Donna Deegan's series of Budget Town Halls will conclude with its seventh and final meeting. Interested parties can mark their calendars for Thursday, March 27 at Terry Parker High School, located at 7301 Parker School Rd, starting at 6 p.m.
The town hall series has been characterized as a platform for "great conversations" by the city government, and it aims to largely further involve the local community in budgetary discussions. The City of Jacksonville's post eagerly invites residents to not just attend this last session, but to also explore the newly launched Budget Transparency Dashboard. This online tool is designed to simplify to understand detailed break downs of the 2024/25 city budget.
The transparency initiative is part of Mayor Deegan’s commitment to open government and civic engagement. The dashboard provides access to data, highlights, and summaries that aim to make the city’s financial planning more accessible and comprehensible. Community members can find this resource on the city's website and are encouraged to utilize it for better understanding of fiscal priorities and allocations.
