
A tragic incident unfolded in Green Cove Springs, Clay County, as a 35-year-old Jacksonville man lost his life in a collision while riding his scooter, First Coast News reported. The accident occurred early yesterday when a work truck driven by a 56-year-old man struck the scooter rider.
According to the News4Jax coverage, the incident happened around 6 a.m. on County Road 209, when the Jacksonville man was traveling north on his motorized black scooter, and the southbound white Dodge Ram work truck made a left turn directly in front of the scooter this resulted in a fatal collision.
The Florida Highway Patrol indicated that the rider was promptly taken to Orange Park Medical Center after the crash, though he unfortunately died due to the injuries sustained, as Action News Jax detailed. The driver of the work truck was reported to be unharmed following the event.
While details about the circumstances leading to the crash continue to be untangled, the Florida Highway Patrol mentioned that the crash remains under active investigation.
