The Department of Water and Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company, Inc. have extended road closures on Pu’uwai Road and Po’ohiwi Road until the end of March. This extension is due to ongoing work on the Kalāheo Water Systems Improvements Project. Travelers should expect traffic modifications in the area, according to the County of Kauai.

The Department of Water and Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company, Inc. are conducting excavation and waterline work on Po’ohiwi Road and parts of Pu’uwai Road. Motorists and pedestrians should follow flaggers' directions and posted signs to navigate safely around the construction areas, as reported by the County of Kauai.

A section of Pu’uwai Road between Kikala Road and Po’ohiwi Road will be closed on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with detours set through Kikala Road. Road work will also take place from Pu’ulima Road to the Clearwell Reservoir access road, with dump trucks in the area. Po’ohiwi Road will have intermittent closures of up to 50 minutes during the same hours. For more information, contact Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company at 808-397-9627 or the Department of Water at 808-245-5411, as stated by the County of Kauai.
