A warehouse fire in Osceola County prompted the temporary closure of a segment of Michigan Ave in Kissimmee yesterday afternoon. According to WFTV, the Kissimmee Fire Department was alerted to the incident around 3:20 p.m., rapidly responding along with mutual aid from Osceola Fire Rescue, St. Cloud Fire Rescue Department, and Orange County Fire Rescue Department, kitchen grease was identified as a hazardous chemical contributing to the blaze that forced two individuals to evacuate.
The operation required coordination from multiple fire departments to manage the inferno, with part of the warehouse's roof succumbing to the flames. Despite the potential hazards and challenging conditions, firefighters were able to gain control and fully extinguish the fire. "We thank Osceola County Fire Rescue and EMS, St. Cloud Fire Rescue Department, and Orange County Fire Rescue Department, Florida, for their assistance through mutual aid," the Kissimmee Fire Department expressed gratitude, as reported by WESH.
As crews worked to control the fire, a necessary roadblock was implemented along Michigan Ave, impacting local traffic. With the joint efforts of the various fire departments, the incident concluded without any reported injuries to civilians or firefighters.
